Salsa Cycles was founded in the early 80's by Ross Shafer. In the early (and often wild) days, Salsa Cycles focused on the manufacture of frames and stems during a time that saw the emergence of off-road bicycles. In 1997, Salsa Cycles was sold to Quality Bicycle Products, an industry leading distributor of bicycles in the U.S.

Backed by the finances of a large distributor, Salsa Cycles was able to flourish by developing pioneering bikes, considered too niche to the big players. This process meant they often found themselves spearheading emerging trends in the industry.

The brand’s portfolio now ranges from top end carbon frames to parts and accessories and remains highly innovative. The Cutthroat was specifically developed to race the Tour Divide. Fast. Their Warbird is often regarded as the first gravel race bike whilst Anything Cages are a household name in the world of cargo cages.

Salsa believe a sense of adventure makes life better. That the bicycle can be so much more than just a bike; it’s a path to new places, new people, and amazing experiences.

Salsa Warroad all-road bike

Salsa Warbird gravel bike

“80% road, 20% whatever”: the unofficial motto of Warroad. The carbon frameset is as light and responsive as you’d want in a road machine, with Class 5™ VRS for compliance when the road runs out. Endurance road geometry positions you for long-haul comfort, and extra frame and fork mounts help keep you supplied for all-day rides.

Compatibility with both 700c and 650b wheels make this a versatile machine ready for wherever you ride. The Warroad is the ultimate all-road bike, fast enough to keep up on the local chaingang but with clearance for tyres that will allow you to drop onto the trails at any point.
